The Illinois Conference of Churches (ICC) is a statewide ecumenical (unifying) organization with 28 member judicatories of 14 denominations representing Protestant, Anglican, Catholic, and Orthodox Christian traditions. We come together to discover ways to celebrate and make visible our sacred bond in Christ. We provide an opportunity for churches in Illinois to reach common goals as we bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Since its founding in 1950, the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA has been a leading force for ecumenical cooperation among Christians in the United States. The 37 NCC member communions — from a wide spectrum of Protestant, Anglican, Orthodox, Evangelical, historic African American and Living Peace churches — include 45 million persons in more than 100,000 local congregations in communities across the nation.
